Recipe Buddy is a small family app. We collect the minimum needed to make it work, and we never sell or share your data with anyone.

What we collect

• Account details — your name and email address, provided by Apple or Google when you sign in. Used to identify you to your own family group. (With Sign in with Apple you can use Apple's private email relay.)
• Your content — recipes, meal memories, notes, ratings, drink entries and photos you add. Visible only to members of your family group (or only to you, if you mark something private), and to any family you choose to share an item with.
• Place of a memory — when you attach photos to a memory, the app reads the photo's date and location, or geocodes a place name you type, to tag the entry. The resulting latitude/longitude is stored with that memory. This only happens for items you create.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase on servers in Sydney, Australia, protected by row-level security so each family can only ever see its own data. Photos are stored in private buckets accessible only via short-lived signed links.

AI processing

When you use the recipe import feature, the recipe text you provide is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to be structured into a recipe. When you use the drink-label scan, the label photo you take is sent to the same service to read its details. Neither is used to train AI models.

What we don't do

• No advertising, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties.
• No data collection beyond what's described above.

Your choices

You can delete any recipe, memory or photo in the app. To delete your whole account and personal data, open the Family tab and tap Delete my account — it's removed straight away. (Recipes, memories and drinks you added to a family stay with that family.)

Content & Conduct Policy

Recipe Buddy lets families share recipes, memories and drinks with other families, by invite code or to a family's "Shared with us" inbox. By using it you agree to share only content you have the right to share, to keep it kind and appropriate for families, and never to send anything hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, illegal or otherwise objectionable.

Zero tolerance. We review every report, usually within 24 hours. Offending content is removed and abusive accounts may be suspended or removed. The person who shares an item is responsible for it; Recipe Buddy does not pre-screen shared items.

Report or block: in the app, open the Family tab, find the item under "Shared with you," and choose Report or Block this family — or email schlappsub@gmail.com. Your use is also governed by Apple's standard EULA.
